Final Fantasy XIV has not been a high point for Square Enix. After the game was released, critics and fans slammed it for having numerous problems. Square Enix knew the game was seriously flawed and decided to restructure the development team to create the true version of FFXIV. For the past several months, Square Enix has not charged players a subscription fee for FFXIV while the team continued to make improvements through updates. In a letter to fans, Square Enix CEO Yoichi Wada detailed the future of FFXIV including the end of the free period, and an update on its PS3 release.

Square Enix is almost ready to being charging for FFXIV again. Between November and December of 2011, subscription fees will once again go into effect. Square Enix will email players about the subscription and will only charge them once they agree. Players who never receive the email won’t have to worry about automatic renewals.

The PS3 release of FFXIV was put on hold while the PC version got its act together. Square Enix now expects to release FFXIV on PS3 sometime between October and December of 2012. When that version is released, expect to see new in-game maps, new clients and new servers. This will essentially be FFXIV version 2.0 and will require new PC software (which will be free). I have not performed in about per 7 days because I have been active with other factors but this evening I tried signing in, it says I am banned.
